Erik Satie’s well known composition has been arranged as a jazz waltz with lots of modern harmonies for this level, but very considerate ranges. The theme is stated by alto and trumpet, and both instruments get some solo space. There’s no big shout chorus in this chart, so it’s perfect for a real change of pace for your developing jazz band. Piano and bass parts are notated, but chord changes are included to encourage improvising.
